Nelson Mandela was the first black president of South Africa and he cared about peaceful protest even though he had an "explosive" past. Nelson Mandela went to jail because he wanted to blow up a police station, but he got caught. In prison, Mandela spent his time thinking. He later became president and became an South African icon.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who spent most of his life fighting for civil rights. He ,just like Gandhi, believed that peaceful protest was the best way to go. Gandhi was a huge inspiration to MLK. MLK was always happy to learn more about Gandhi and Gandhi influenced him.
Gandhi was a man, born in India, whom later became a protest icon. He believed that peaceful protest was the way to go. It may have taken a long time, but the results were amazing. He was go to jail until he thought that time was up and he would ask to leave, and if they said no he would starve himself. He would repeat that every time he went to jail.
