MLK Jr. encouraged peaceful protest in America for African Americans. He believed that they should stop segregation and that African Americans should have as many rights as white people.
Nelson Mandela was the first black president in South Africa. He was also a politician. He became actively involved in the anti-apartheid movement in his 20's, Mandela joined the African National Congress in 1942. For 20 years, he directed a campaign of peaceful, nonviolent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies.
Gandhi was a peaceful old guy. He encouraged peaceful protest in India. He believed that Indians has as many rights as the Englishmen.
