Traveling is my favorite thing to do apart from reading. The biggest places I've been to are England, Australia, and India. Its really cool when you see things that are completely different from what you have at home. Its really cool to think about that you have so many things on the same planet that are totally out of the world!
I love hiking, especially at Harper's Ferry! Hiking is really fun, you get to see natural wonders around you, and just get lost in beauty of nature. I've been to Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, two times now, and it isn't boring to see the amazing views over and over again! I've hiked on the Maryland Hights Trail with my family and a few friends this summer. The trail was painful, as we had to hike up the mountain, but when I went up to the overlook at a cliff to see a breathtaking view of the lush green mountains, the quaint, historic village, and the point where the Potomac River and the Shenandoah River meet and merge into one, I thought that the hike was worth it. Hiking is just great!
I love making things from yarn by crocheting. Its fun, and the result you get at the end is useful. Its a fun past time I have that I started 1 and a half years ago. Last year for an English project we had to advertise and sell items for our persuasive unit. My group made jewelry and crocheted items. I made scarves and hats, and it was really rewarding when we sold so many!
Tennis is very fun. It feels satisfying when you slam the ball hard with one fluid motion of your hand. Its a good way to spend my energy and time. I always go to the tennis court to have fun, and laugh with my friends and family. We laugh at each other, play, and have a great time outdoors, enjoying the weather.
I love dancing Bollywood. Its a type of dance that is most common in India. Dancing is a way to let my feelings out in a burst of joy. I do performances and sometimes participate in competitions. Its fun, good exercise, and a good way to spend my time. It also helps me build teamwork and social skills.
I've been in love with space since I was a little girl of five years old. Space is wonderful, a mystery that keeps on unfolding itself one by one, just out of reach. Stars, galaxies, nebulae, everything is mystifying. I love thinking about the ways where everything came from, and if there are aliens out there. Its a world like in a book, but there is a difference - the world really exists.
I love the library - its a place to relax, and sink yourself into a good book. The library has a quiet atmosphere, and wherever you go, you are surrounded by books. This makes me feel calm, and I love the comfy furniture that they have right next to the books. The library is very active, it has tons of activities to do. This summer, for the Solar Eclipse, they handed out free solar eclipse glasses! The library is a great place to be, and this is my favorite place to go apart from home.
My favorite animal is a lion! Most preferrably, a lioness. They're just amazing. Lions are They hold a power to them, that's simply captivating. They are seen as mean animals, but they can be gentle and caring. They have interesting social patterns as well. They live in a pride, which is like a huge family, where they all protect each other.
I love baking - its a new obsession of mine! This year I had a bake sale in my neighborhood with my friends, and raised $128, plus donated $82 for charity! I baked a cake for my sister's birthday, and cupcakes for my mom's. Baking is really fun, especially decorating it! It keeps you busy, and its really satisfying when you see smiles on people's faces when they bite into the delicious goodies that you made by hand! Its putting everything together to make a really rewarding result at the end!
Pottermore - the online version of the wizarding world, or the online Harry Potter fan club! Ever since I've read Harry Potter, I've been obsessed. I've always wanted to be on top of everything Harry Potter related, and this was the perfect site to do that! It sorts you into the house that fits you in the best, which wand you get, and which Patronus, and it updates you on things that you can't get in the books themselves. It also creates interesting quizzes to test your knowledge on the Wizarding World. They recently released a simulation thing that gives you a tour of the exterior of the Hogwarts Castle, the Quidditch Pitch, and the Forbidden Forest. It also writes articles about the life lessons that J.K Rowling tries to teach people in the books. Pottermore is a really amazing website, and I wish that other book series that are also my favorites had an impressive website like this!
