"For me, and many girls I know the Boy Scouts of America has been the right fit." Maddy Agers, a former Girl Scout realized how badly she wanted to join the Boy Scouts after hearing about her brothers experiences. While Maddy was learning about dinosaurs and finding fake fossils, her brother was being taught how to shoot guns. Maddy and many other girls she knew had the craving for more adventure so, because of this craving Maddy signed up for Venture, a co-ed Boy Scouts program that gives girls more adventurous activities to do. Due to this Venture program Maddy was able to facilitate an even that the president attended.
"Boy Scouts has chosen to open its program to girls, rather than focusing on the 90% of boys not in Boy Scouts." Sylvia Acevedo the CEO of the Girl Scouts of America thinks that girls should be staying and Girl Scouts. When girls are in Girl Scouts they are the main focus of the program while when they're in Boy Scouts they're just a supporting role. Research has shown Girl Scouts helps girls shine in leadership, school and it also helps support girls in their career girls. So girls should stay in Girl Scouts because it helps them with their future life goals.
Wes Siler is a strong believer in the Boy Scouts allowing girls to join the organization. If Boy Scouts allowed girls to join the program they will help create a larger amount of young leaders that will have a positive impact in the future. The Boy Scouts have made progress in letting homosexual and transgender people join so they should be able to let girls join as well. Since the change to a multi-gendered scouts program in countries like England . the amount of people that have joined has sailed to a record high.
Women serve an incredible role in our community but girls joining Boy Scouts just doesn't make sense. Little boys and girls have no common interests so girls joining Boy Scouts will serve no positive impact. Girls just want to prove that they can do what all boys can do, but they can definitely prove this outside of scouts, There will be so many experiences and memories that a girl will miss out on if she doesn't join Girl Scouts. The Boy Scouts should stay for boys and the Girl Scouts should stay for girls so everyone stays happy.
Cheryl Chumley of The Washington Time thinks Girls Scouts should only be for girls and Boy Scouts should only be for boys, so if girls are joining Boy Scouts than what's the point of Girl Scouts?! Women have the right to join whatever organization they want but that organization shouldn't have to change their policies completely to accommodate for women. If girls join Boy Scouts it completely destroys the idea that girls and boys have separate roles in our community and that both genders have the same functions. Boy Scouts is used to support common values and beliefs but this change goes completely against that.
In this article John Carlson informs that the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have officially let girls join Boy Scouts. The decision was not forced upon the BSA but is actually being used for future opportunities and growth of the Boy Scouts of America. Even while girls are allowed to join Boy Scouts, each cub pack is allowed to create a policy on if they're willing to let girls join. Girls joining Boy Scouts will help single parent families and double working families give their kids an activity to do while working. Boy scouts will help kids become more active and will change them from being glued to screens to being glued to nature.
