I chose this video because it illustrates Growth Mindset. I like it because it shows that everyone starts off not knowing anything. All babies have to learn. You just have to keep trying to improve--even at walking or riding a bike. If you master the basic skills, you can move on to even bigger things. I will use this video to remember that everyone needs to struggle so I just need to keep trying until I get it (whatever it is!). I can do that!
Here is a video that shows an important idea in Growth Mindset: Failure. Even though the experiment is a failure, everyone is excited because failure can help you learn. This shows the Growth Mindset concept of keep trying. Everyone is not automatically a success, we all have had failures. I think this will help me have a Growth Mindset because I won't get so discouraged when I don't always know the answer. I will keep trying to figure things out and not feel so badly when I don't get things immediately.
I really like John Legend. I like that he admits that he wasn't always as great as he is now and that he struggled to be famous. I think that attitude gives everyon hope that we can do what we wnat to do but we really have to work hard. This show the Growth Mindset concept that everyone can be talented and that no one was born talented. Everyone has to work with what they start with and take it from there. Even if I am not YET smart in a subject, I can be with hard work.
This is another video about Growth Mindset and not giving up. I picked this video because it wasn't just about learning something new (although this man tried hard to learn Yoga!), it also was about how you can change physically by using Growth Mindset ideas. It shows a lot of the concepts in the other videos like learning something new, learning from failure, and keep trying but it also shows how your body can change because of your mind. Maybe I can become a better athlete if I develop a Growth Mindset.
