Congress ould pass a legislation to control criminal penalties for dogs across state lines to fight, a move that could help this breed not to look dangerous anymore. Also, could stop underground dogfighting rings across the country. The reason why people think its so cool to dog fight is because they lure money, match participants and dog owners sometimes bet hundred of thousands of dollars on a single match with their dog. I think that they shouldn't do it and this article proves said facts about how dog fighting is wrong and it just makes the dogs look bad.
Now lastly, you probably have heard nightmarish stories about Pit Bulls and their supposedly dangerous nature. As I said many times before in my recent articles, it wasn't long ago that Pit Bulls not only weren't they feared but they were very friendly and patient. They were perfect breed to be a babysitter for children. They got singled out as dangeous dogs in the 1980's when people started to use them as examples not to "mess with them". Pit bulls became the dog breed of choice for the criminal element, or those looking for dogs to threaten, guard, intimidate and generally just to look "scary". This now led to many owners abusing their dogs into become vicious mean attack dogs. So now until this day, the breeds reputation worsened and encouraging more people in the market for "mean" dog to adopt Pit bulls so they can put them in for dog fights. There really is no evidence to support the idea that Pit bulls are naturally more aggressive or dangerous than other breeds, they all have the same attitude if you treat them with respect. They had a bad reputation and has been so deeply ingrained in our culture that a kind of racism has developed against them. Mistrust will lead up to attention and that would also lead to the breed being implicated in more negative activity than other breeds which make it worse and perpetuates the breeds reputation.
Myth: Pit bulls have "locking jaws" Reality: They actually don't, Pit bulls don't have any specific physical enzyme that will allow them to "lock their jaw". Myth: Pit bulls are inherently vicious Reality: This here is a stereotype and people make it out to see Pitbulls look bad as a breed. Each dog should be evaluated by his on merits and not their own breed. There is a truth that there are no bad dogs, there are bad people though. Myth: Better to adopt a Pit Bull puppy, instead of an adult Reality: False. It is a fact that puppies are too cute, but thing about puppies is; they grow up. They mature and their personality develops and that's when you start to actually find out if your dog is dominant or submissive.
News reports are to be believed, pit bulls have been attacking and biting humans left and right. Where communities are considering breed-specific bans on pit bulls. Which in my opinion, I don't believe is right. It isn't the dog that has the attitude, it is the owner who trains them to hate anything or attack anything who walks past. Therefore, it is not the dogs fault, it is who raises the dog. Pitbulls used to be America's darlings, but before the mid-80's stories were told that pitbull attacks are practically non-existent. There are actually a lot of confusion over exactly which breed of dog is a pit bull. There are many such as, American Pitbull terrier, the Staffordshire terrier and at times the bulldog. This confusions seems to have dogged the breed from the very start and as there is some disagreement over the origin of pitbulls. Far from being considered a killing machine on legs, out bulls seem to be American favorite in the early half of the century indeed during World War I. The country itself is personified as a pitbull on army recruitment posters and several pit bulls go on to become very famous etc.
These dogs have been bred for many different jobs over the last century. Before pitbulls were out to be the most "vicious dogs", they were known to be bred as family companions so therefore they would need to be treated with compassion and loved. Pitbulls are no different than any other dog, they were bred to be working dogs, "nannies" and family companions but later to bull bait and then to be put in dog fights. Dog fighting would not tolerated dogs that showed any signs of aggression, with that they had to be able to putt their dog out of a fight without being bit. That is because these dogs are being treated poorly, being abused and neglected by their owners. With all of that said, there are a certain breed of normalcies such as the herding instinct in cattle dogs but all dogs are their own selves. They exhibit their own unique personalities so they should be treated and trained as such.
Pitbulls are known to be raised as "fighting dogs" but that's not it at all. Did you know that Pitbulls were once known at "Nanny dogs"? Its because of their trustworthy, loyalty and gentleness towards their owners and anybody that comes near them. Soon it became a symbol for gangs and they found a way to look even more "tough", they exploited their dogs behavior indefinitely. Most think this breed is born to rip open another dog, or a human being-But that is not true whatsoever. It takes a cruel person to raise a dog and train them to fight people for others entertainment in the form of dog fighting.
