The article “Educators share how No Child Left Behind has affected their classroom” and Harrison Bergeron both show how making everything exactly equal can bring down everyone. In Harrison Bergeron it depicts a world where everyone was made “exactly equal” but to achieve this they made the smarter people wear “handicaps”. Relating to the article, it explains how NCLB Act is affecting classroom actively with one teacher saying “I am told to teach to a test. I am told that they need to just be exposed to what they will be tested on, and that mastery doesn’t matter.” While it seems all the NCLB is doing is reducing the creativity level, it was originally intended for kids who struggled to be at par with other kids in school. With both of these showing that trying to making things exactly equal can bring down the majority.
