Skiing is quite possibly my favorite activity on this entire good green Earth. I've been skiing since I was two years old and snowboarding since I was nine, and no, do not ask me which one I prefer because I love them both for different reasons. When I'm on the snow, I feel like I can fly, I feel like I am no longer bound to the physical restraints of being human. I am a superhuman when I ski, skiing is easier than running, than sleeping, than breathing. I don't have to think, my muscles do the work for my mind, I just become one with the cliffs and the trees and the powdery snow puffing over my legs. Without skiing, I'm not actually sure I would make it all the way through the winter season...
THIS ARTICLE ACTUALLY EXPLAINS MY LIFE!!! ok... so I was not actually born in England, I was born in Ohio. However, my entire family lives in Europe, and I spent most of my young life across the pond. I'm first generation American. I've got two accents in the same way people speak two different languages, and my family's favorite hobby is to make fun of Americans. Is that offensive? In that case, answer me this: why do Americans show up so darn early for EVERYTHING? GIVE ME AN ANSWER, THERE MUST BE A REASON!
I doodle all the time to make up for the fact that I'm not actually in an art class at any given moment. ...but really, it does actually help me focus, and it makes my notes look pretty at the same time. I love art, I've always been an artistic kid ever since I was really little. People say I'm pretty good, and I've won a few competitions here and there, but theres always room for improvement. Thats what's so great about art!
The gym is my safe space, I lift every day, and it's not a good day unless get some form of exercise. I started lifting sophomore year and now I can squat more than most of the boys. My mom likes to complain that lifting is 'unladylike' and that I should stop, but guess what mom? I can carry all your Costco groceries in from the car in one go. With one arm, so I can still open the door and pet the dog as a I go inside. You're welcome.
I love thrift shopping. I cannot actually remember the last time I bought an item of clothing for full price, because everything I wear is either thrifted, found, gifted, or on sale. Don't get me wrong, I love designer brands and I love lookin' fly; however, I'd rather spend my money on vacations. The perfect solution? Thrift! I commonly find brand new designer items in the thrift store (with the original tag still attached). I collect ridiculous, funky, designer shoes as well, so I commonly raid secondhand stores for those too.
I LOVE MARCHING BAND! I believe marching band is the most 'team sport' of all team sports! Marching band has given me a family and a sense of self-worth and acceptance. It has taught me discipline, the importance of cooperation, and of course how to multitask and look good while doing it!
After High School, I plan on taking a year off to see the world and figure out who I am as a person because currently I completely lost. We're not supposed to know what we want to do at this point anyway, so I'm not too worried. WWOOFing is a program where you can work for various farms, vineyards, and organizations around the globe for free room and board! It saves money as well as giving an easier access to those valuable life XP points.
