Living close to the outdoors my whole life has encouraged me to develop a love for hiking and nature. Last year, I read a book called 'Wild' by Cheryl Strayed (a movie has also been made based on the book, starring Reese Witherspoon) and it introduced me to the Pacific Crest and Appalachian Trails. Some day, I hope to hike one one of these trails myself.
I began working at Great Wall Chinese Restaurant two years ago in June of 2015. Since then, I've grown very close to my bosses, seeing as I'm their only employee, and adopted a new nickname, "Chebby." This is an article about the difference between lo mein and chow mei fun, two dishes that are very commonly confused.
Artists in Residence is a program I'm involved in through Bloomington Stages, the only all-youth theatre company in Bloomington. With the Young Artists program, I've been able to meet so many professionals in the theatre world, as well new friends with the same interests I have. With this group, I've had the opportunity to see multiple shows, help backstage at our production of Brundibàr (a one-act children's opera), and last spring, I starred in the musical 'Legally Blonde' as Elle Woods.
I'm a proud owner of four goats! Two of my goats are pygmy goats, and the other two are boers. I show my boer goats, Martha and Dottie, in the Lawrence County fair, and next summer will be my last year as a ten-year-member. Martha and Dottie recently came back from a short vacation, and they are now expecting to have kids over Christmas break!
