Due to this, the populations of the octopus have dropped dramatically. They have worked to be more financial with their use of oil and gas profits, they are cutting down on funding and exporting too many octopus at once. Human occupations have also had a contribution to this population decrease in octopus.
Octopus has more nutrients than anything. So eating it once in a while isn't a terrible thing. Watching out for your consumption is where that line is drawn. The way it is fished is better than most fish out there and does not cause too much by-catch as it has a safe way to be caught. Depending on where you live, they can be a delicacy or a normal meal as they are caught on many coasts of the world and are imported to places who dont have such easy access. It is not a bad food or animal as some sources may say. It is more sustainable due to new research and will be served for a long time in restaurants, seasides, and even your kitchen at home.
