Nelson Mandela and Gandhi had many things in common. They both believed that jail time proved a point that they were oppressed. They both fought for equal rights for their race in their own countries. Besides being civil rights activist, They both served time in jail and eventually got out to do the same thing that put them behind bars.
Gandhi was a very influential peace activist for freedom of India from Great Britain. Gandhi believed in non-violent protests. His teachings have been passed over from country to country and have influenced several civil rights activist. Gandhi believed that he shouldn't use or consume British made products. Gandhi has marched several times influencing several people like Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was influenced by Gandhi in many ways. King took many things and ideas from Gandhi including his famous marches. Gandhi and King also had similar views on jail and imprisonment they felt that if they were put in jail they had won. They both also were famous civil rights activists.
