Some of the most pressing questions in today's society and era are all about the president. Is he good? Is he bad? What is he going to do next? Well the answer to these questions can all depend upon the person answering them and what perspective they have on him and his political party. Some would say he is good and some would say he is bad. When President Trump was first elected many people thought this country was going to burn. Others thought it was going to be a change of pace and that he was actually going to get stuff done. Then there were most people who had no idea. Some people decided to stay positive and think that he may be great for this country while others did not. Going in to his presidency how people felt about him was all based in their perspective. With time and some education people's perspectives changed. Some believe now he will be good and others now think he is going to be bad. Perspective can be a matter of how you were brought up or how much you know and what you decide to believe with that knowledge.
The circus and many circuses have been around for over a hundred years. When the circus first started people from all over came to see them. They watched the animals do stunts and tricks and as well to watch people in the circus do the same. People back then did not even think about what was happening behind the scenes to these animals. In the circus the people who joined had a choice and essentially knew what they were signing up for. However the animals had no choice and did not know anything about what was to come. In later years and in more modern times videos, pictures, and articles have been seen and read about the circus and what they do to these animals. These are the reasons why some circuses have been shut down completely. Perspective may not always be an over night change or just a change in where you stand. A perspective change sometimes requires education and time to see what is really happening and to see what you stand for.
In recent years as more and more video games are being made and sold, people wonder if some are too violent and realistic for kids. Each perspective on this situation can be backed up by some fact so there is no true right or wrong answer. Some say all of these violent video games lead to more aggressive behavior in children and they lead to bullying. While others may say these video games allow kids to get their aggression out in non-real life situations so they don't act upon it when in real life. There is also a statistic that shows while more violent video games have been sold, there has been a decrease in the juvenile crime rate. Then the counter argument for this can be that children also imitate the violence portrayed in the games and they begin to not understand what's real and what isn't. Both of these arguments can be compelling but which ever you believe is right or wrong all depends upon your perspective and which argument find more effective.
In this novel the main character, Greg, has an old friend from Hebrew school, Rachel, that has been recently diagnosed with cancer. Almost everyone around her looks at her like a wounded puppy but she refuses to think that she is dying. She has a positive perspective on her situation and doesn't allow the cancer and the doctors to convince her she is dying. While everyone else has a negative perspective where they all basically think she is going to die. When Greg's mother finds out Rachel has cancer she almost forces him to go and spend every free minute he has, with Rachel. Greg's mom has a positive outlook on what them spending time together will do but Greg thinks Rachel is just going to take him starting to spend time with her again as him pitying her. This novel portrays perspective almost differently in every person so that no one is ever thinking or feeling the same thing.
Perspective is always changing. It can change in a single person or it just completely changes from person to person. Perspective might not always need an opinion or fact to change it either. In art perspective can change just by where you're standing or the angle you're are looking from it at. In this image lines are drawn on a building to make it looks like circles that are getting larger and larger. If you stand where the left picture was taken one would understand what it is and see that there are circles painted on the building. Then if someone stands where the picture was taken on the right it would just look like a bunch of random lines drawn on this building. This shows that sometimes you just have to be in the right position to see the full picture.
In this play the decision whether to make Caesar king or to keep the Republic the way it is, is all up to a person's perspective. An example from the play is, Brutus was convinced by the other conspirators that Caesar being crowned king is the absolute worst thing for Rome and it would also put them out of a job. So their outlook on Caesar being crowned king was clearly negative. While Mark Antony and almost everybody else thought that Caesar being crowned the king of Rome was the best decision they had. This play portrays the importance of negative and positive perspective in, likely, the most extreme case.
Almost every historical battle was all based on two sides having two different perspectives on one particular issue. For just one example, in World War II countries were disagreeing because they all had different perspectives on what one another were doing or what they were going to do. The reasons they had their different perspectives can be based on religion, cultural backgrounds, and whether they were a democracy, monarchy, or dictatorship. Another action based on perspective was at the end of WWII when the U.S dropped the atomic bombs on Japan. America saw this as the only way to bring an end to this war and other countries agreed. While others may have seen this as just killing innocent people to get what you want.
In this letter he is writing to his fellow clergymen from a jail in Birmingham, Alabama. He views himself being arrested as more of a message and not a bad situation he has gotten himself in to. This arrest for him is a message that is showing all the unjust that is still in the south even after claims of it no longer having race issues. In this letter he explains the situation he is in and looks at him getting arrested as almost positive because it is bringing light to racism in the south. This possibly positive outlook on his arrest and this letter contributed greatly to the civil rights movement and gaining equality for all who live in America.
In The Circle, the company can either be viewed as good for society or bad for society. For example, Mercer and Kalden realize that the company is destroying any sense of personal identity anyone has left. However Mae and the other two wise men see what they are doing as advancing society and helping the future. These characters both clearly have very different perspectives on their situation. It also should be known that having a negative perspective on something is not always bad, like in the book The Circle.
This church in Belgium almost looks different at every angle. From the top you wouldn't even be able to tell that the church is see through. Then from a bottom angle of the church it almost looks like it's floating because light only shows through on the bottom and the rest looks solid. Every angle provides different patterns of shadows and light whether you are on the inside or outside of the church.
