Every summer break we travel somewhere. Last, last year ago we went to New Zealand. Then we went to Canada. And this year I went to Europe. 10 days. 3 days in Budapest, 3 days in Vienna, 3 days in Munich, 1 day of traveling. This was in Vienna, we rode a carriage with the "driver" explaining things to us as we went around the city.
I'm really into Game of Thrones these days. George RR Martin is, I would say, one of the best author of this century. He uses real life historical events and people to reflect his own world. For example, the War of the Roses shows the royalty of England fighting for the throne, just like in the books and TV show, or how Joffrey is Edward Lancaster, a real historical figure. And the tradition of English royalty marrying their own family members is reflected in the Targaryen family. It's not scared to make edgy twists and turns(for the benefit of the story) and the characters' motivations are all so ambiguous. Then the fantasy comes into play along with awesome looking dragons and ice zombies.
Star Wars. I've loved this since early elementary. Even though my passions may come and go, Star Wars will always remain my favorite passion. It has so much content and time periods, you can imagine how things played out before. Like I could choose a person walking by and give him/her an interesting story. There's also the great characters that appear. The main trio, Luke, Leia, and Han are all great on screen. Han bantering with Leia, Luke talking to Han about the force, Leia and Luke's almost mystical connection, it's amazing. And the action is fast paced and cool, the music entraps you in the moment, the sound effects are unique. I love it.
Stranger Things is now one of my favorite shows. It's on Netflix and is pretty short. I watched it in one sitting, not even 7 hours. I think the Duffer brothers are true geniuses for creating this show. The imagery, the character interactions, the acting, all phenomenal. You know in movies, when people see something crazy, they tell people hysterically and nobody believes them? This show knows that normal people don't act like this and wouldn't. It's smart that way.
This is one of my favorite Oasis songs. It's so calm and peaceful but energetic at the same time. The song's also about how the guys get super drunk and are kinda floating around, outside of reality. I'd like to try that, be outside of reality and not worry about anything for once.
A Monster Calls is definitely my favorite book. It's the first book that made me want to research and get more of it after I read it. Much like I am with TV shows or movies. It's a great and depressing story, exactly my kind of story.
I wrote this back in 7th grade. My teacher, Mr. Samuelson said that it was great, so I'm proud of it(though I don't think it's that good).
