One of the project from last year was to make a set list to perform for the school, where I played the piano as usual. My group's set list included "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran, "The Greatest" by Sia, and one thai song.
The Neighbourhood is actually one of Marlena's favourite band. While doing a project together, she kept repeating the same song so many time. And thanks to her, since that incident, I've been kinda addicted to this song.
"BADLANDS" is one of my favourite album from Halsey, and my favourite song in the album is Roman Holiday. Just like how many people describes it, it feels like friends going on a trip together and just having fun. I listen to this song really often because it just brings the fantasy to the people that is stuck sitting for 8-10 hours in school or work.
At a young age, she was bullied for her voice. But she turned her weakness into her strength, and even though she doesn't have a strong voice, but she is able to sing with her fingers. Lee Jin Ah is a Jazz and R&B song-writer and pianist, her voice and piano skills are very unique. There was a time when I wanted to give up on piano, but when I saw her playing the piano, she inspired me to continue playing piano and to improve.
Even though I play piano, but I wanted to learn to play the guitar. Because I really like guitar a lot, most of my favourite artists plays string instruments. Including this musical artist, who plays amazing jazz fingerstyle. In addition, I only found out later that he is in the same band as Lee Jin Ah, who I mentioned earlier. For a while, I had wanted to learn fingerstyle after watching his covers.
The artist that I grew up listening to: John Mayer. Rock, Pop, Blue, Folk, Country, Soul. "Moving On and Getting Over" is one of my favourite song of his, this song just has such a great groove to it. His guitar solos and riffs are amazing, there's so many songs of his that I love. He was the reason that really encouraged me to play guitar, but my parents didn't allow me to learn guitar.
This is actually a cover of John Mayer's "Neon" by Ahn Jung Jae. From the album "Room For Squares", it was released in 2001. A year older than me. But this song holds a special meaning to me, because it was the first song of John Mayer that I listened to. And seeing my favourite artist covering my other favourite artist just makes me really happy.
Kodaline is one of my favourite band, their songs are always inspiring and beautiful. I just love how their music tells a story in someone's life, and people from around the world are able to relate their experiences to the lyrics.
Grace Vanderwaal, a.k.a a prodigy. This 13 year old girl shooked the world with her original song and won the 11th season of America's Got Talent. At such a young age, she has such a creative mind and amazing composing skills. When I first saw her singing "I Don't Know My Name" on AGT, I could only think that she would inspire so many people. Every time I listen to her songs, I admire her so much.
Alessia Cara is honestly just amazing. Started from acoustic covers on YouTube, and now, she's writing songs and singing all around the world. One thing that people loves about her music is that the lyrics are so inspiring and relatable. Her debut single "Here" on the top charts and the song expresses my feelings about how I am forced to go to a party with my parents and I just don't know what am I doing here.
