The physical aspect of my project involves having a small scale model of the castle itself. Originally, I planned on printing a 3D model of the castle, however, the lack of available models meant that using this papercraft will work much better. The link contains a download for the model in a high quality, which means that it can be printed and built into a high-quality model.
HP Reveal is the software I am going to use to link the physical and digital parts of my project. The software is capable of scanning objects which can then be used as triggers that link to documents, 3D models, or websites.
A 3D virtual tour of Kumamoto Castle in Kumamoto prefecture, Japan. This is something similar to what I plan on doing for my project. It allows for a closer look at the castle, and by using something like this with conjunction with information, can account for most of the digital aspect of my task.
The company known as INDE is well known in museum and display industries due to their incredible AR implementation. This is relevant to my project as it shows what AR software is capable of. While my project won't be even close to the level of precision as this, I still hope to make something that is equally as immersive.
This is an implementation of Alternate Reality in an art museum in France. It gives visitors an opportunity to see a statue that isn't in the museum, and also gives a full 3 dimensional look at the statue. It is relevant due to the similarity to my project, and although it is using art, it completes a similar task to my project.
