Social Media has been a great way to stay connected with my family through Facebook, but also keeping up with modern world history as most things get promoted through retweets and subtweets. My twitter page gives a snapshot into my life as Brennan Coppola.
I joined marketing 101 in my sophomore year of high school, which introduced me to DECA. Understanding the daily operations of a business and how to tweak some of those to help a business grow has opened my eyes to how much work it is to run your own business. The competitions have also given me many great skills to use in the future.
With my growing passion with cheerleading, I have the opportunity to be part of an invite only try out with the U of WY coed cheer team. This school allows me to have three important aspects to me for college life - engineering, cheerleading and being far away from my family but close enough to visit if I really get homesick.
As blessed as we are in the area of the state we live in, it is important to remember to give back to the community around us and around the world. There a lot of people that have much less than we do and I have found a certain peace in serving on missions teams giving back to orphans in Peru.
With activities, school and family commitments - one of the best things I can do is to disconnect from every day life and get back to nature. My family and I like to camp, fish and hike and I am always surprised at how good I feel when we get back.
It is important in today's world to see and experience other cultures outside of the one I currently live. So I have traveled with my family around the United States, as well as to Mexico, Peru and Canada.
Four year ago I joined a basement robotics team that began as a group of friends, but grew to a regional competitive team. Through it all though, we learned many life lessons that we will always have with us. The importance of teamwork, inspiring others and the world of engineering - all of which have propelled me to want to study engineering in college.
As long as I can remember - my mom has shared her love of the Denver Broncos with me. Watching and going to games with her are some of my favorite memories growing up. Her love of the local team is now my love of the Denver Broncos and I hope to share that with others.
Since the beginning of the June, I have followed a new passion of cheerleading. It is something I have become very strong in and wanting to do in college. Also has taught me important lessons in keeping involvement with every aspect of school, family and friends, and also keeping a good rep/image within the community for your team
