My goal for this class is to absolutely Ace it. I enjoy English so much and when I was in your class Freshmen year I slacked and had a lot of guilt because I knew that I was better then that. So making my comeback I plan on putting a lot of work into everything given to me and to prove I'm better then what I had shown.
One thing I'm really hoping to gain from this class is public speaking. I chose this because even though I am a clear speaker I am not a confident one. I look uncomfortable and truly unhappy and that is not the impression I want not only for myself but for any job interviews. I hope we have the chance to go up in front of the class to present so I have more practice. This way I'll be more satisfied with myself and can confidently stand in front of my peers.
My personal strength in English is writing, I love it. I have always felt like my writing was very captivating and strong and easy to get caught reading constantly. I enjoy essays and writing my personal beliefs on things considering most of my writing is extremely in depth and detailed. I can write paragraphs fast and get the work done but I always need enough time to do it all. Questions that require a long response are my favorite because I enjoy stating my point of view on things or just answering a question with solid fact.
I would like to believe that I am pretty good at English yet I would say one of my faults is grammar. This is mainly because I am a very fast worker and type or write things as soon as they pop up into my head. So that really sets me back because sometimes I have to go back and delete a lot of work from my mistakes. It is very frustrating when I am trying to get things done. Grammar maybe be my down fall in my writing.
My second hobby is Dance and as a kid I did not like to move my body in any shape or form but as I got older I took a class and realized this was something I could be good at. I spend a lot of time stretching and improving to music that makes me really think about my life. I believe this is something that shows my work ethic because I started from nothing and slowly worked my way up to multiple turns and straighter leaps and I couldn't me more excited to progress even further. This is a hobby that helps me thinks through things other than to run from them. If I want to fight my way through my problems I will dance my way through it and it is special to me and my pride.
One of the hobbies I started Sophomore year that took it's way to Senior year is Water Polo. This sport is the toughest around and I love it with every fiber of my heart. It was meant to kill you and be too hard for slackers to take part in it. Treading for 5 hours none stop during practice will kill your legs but give them the best tone. Yet in game it's are business and when it's time to play I put 120% always. This is my hobby that is a big escape for me and it helps me keep a clear mind not only that but a drive to succeed. I enjoy it more than anything or anything else I take part it. Although I do not suggest it for slackers and people who struggle to multitask. Even so this is my number 1 hobby and it holds a place in my heart and I plan to continue on into college.
This is my current favorite song even though it is a bit aged I believe it still holds the value of our human race. This is one of those songs that use harsh reality to send through a message. I adore that, so many songs are about the same thing but very few fight politics or make it clear that we as the human race are causing more harm then good. It opens the topic of war and how it's never ending and even years later we are still in the same fighting position going in to cause more pain for millions. I love that this is more than some cheesy love song. It may be older but it is a undying classic.
