Nelson Mandela was the first black president of South Africa. He was a symbol of peace because he used lots of peaceful protesting and influenced by Gandhi a very good amount. His peaceful protesting worked even better than anywhere else because most of the population in South Africa consists of mainly colored people.
He was inspired heavily by Mahatma Gandhi. He was fighting for black rights and fought hard. But since he was inspired by Gandhi, he fought peacefully with protests and marches and gave African Americans and encouraged peaceful ways.
Gandhi was an Indian man that freed India from Britain. He used means of peaceful protesting to drive out the British. He was very smart and made Britain not want India anymore and he also inspired many leaders to use peaceful ways when fighting for a cause.
