I'm not sure if this book was bout Clay or Hannah or both. I'm leaning a little more towards Hannah, but I think it's a little bit of both. This book is basically just 13 reasons why Hannah Baker killed herself. It just summarizes a lot of the things that happen to a lot of teens and reasons why some people commit suicide or are depressed and how we need to be more aware of the things around you and that there are better ways to deal with things like bullying and depression other than suicide. This book is on my list because it's really good. While, at times, it was confusing, I do think the book is worth a read. It is tragic and I couldn't put it down.
Speechless is about Chelsea Knot, the second most popular girl in her school. Chelsea can't be trusted. She tells any story she can get. She finds out a guy is gay and immediately blabs it, but he ends up in the hospital because some kids didn't accept it and beat him up in a parking lot. The two athletes who beat him up end up in jail because Chelsea told the cops what they did (which is good because they attacked him for being gay). Everyone in school hates her because their two star athletes are in jail. Not because of the guy in the hospital (eye roll). To end her reckless streak, she takes an oath of silence. She learns who she really is without popularity and constantly trying to get attention. This book is amazing! I love it so much, you would be crazy not to pick it up! This is my absolute, 100%, favorite book! It is just plain amazing!
Because Voldemort murdered his parents, Harry Potter is raised by his awful aunt and uncle and living with them and his cousin, Dudley, until he is 11. He has no idea that he's a wizard. He just knows he's miserable. When a huge man named Hagrid comes and tells him he's a wizard and will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he doesn't know what to think. Harry meets new friends, Ron and Hermione, and all three have adventures throughout Hogwarts. This series is awesome! I've read it a total of 3 times and I never get tired of it! Harry Potter is the best series ever. I don't usually like series, but this one was definitely worth all 7 books! It's just so magical and the plot is fantastic!
Boy21 is about Finley. Finley lives in Bellmont, a dangerous town with dangerous people. He is the only white varsity starter on the boys basketball team, which is why everyone calls him "White Rabbit." When basketball star, Russel Allen, comes into town because his parents were murdered, calling himself "Boy21" their friendship and understanding of each other helps them both find themselves. This book was really good. Although I would've liked to know more at the end, the build up of the story was great! I think the author was just trying to end the book quick. The ending was too sudden.
Everything Everything is about Madeline Whittier. She has SCID and cannot leave the house. The new neighbor, Olly, is a fascination to Maddy. It's a story of risking life for love and death for life. This book was just great. It was extremely descriptive and like nothing I've ever read before! It was just so different! (In a good way). The style of writing varied and it just made you feel a part of Maddy Whittier.
