The interpretation I made from this artwork was that no matter who you are, race, gender, or age, you have the ability to help someone hurting. This is why you should always be kind to others because you never know what they could be going through. This relates to mental health because many of the disorders people are faced with are the world and the way they are viewed in society. For example, anxiety, where one is always nervous about a particular situation. Now some people believe this is normal or happens to everyone, however, anxiety attacks are very traumatic and nothing like the small bits of anxiety one would get before a test.
Our society spends about $150 billion a year on mental illnesses because they account for the greatest number of hospital admissions. The government is just throwing money at the situation when they should be researching ways to prevent these illnesses. There is also another perspective though, ignorant people believe that these people are damaged and to stuck in there heads that they are unfixable. This makes the situation the patients are in worse. As this issue gets damaging, it is ruining our society because hundreds are seeking suicide as there final resort to cope with the way they felt internally.
This article talks about what mental health is actually classified as. It is important no matter what stage of life it may appear at. It affects how you act or feel towards things and also how you think and how you cope with stress and making important decisions. All these things are an important part of life, and normal people also struggle with it. Therefore, if people are suffering from disorders, this can negatively affect their lives.
Mental Health is most common in teenagers and they take up a great about of people who abuse drugs and alcohol. This article claims that self-medication is what these people are defaulting to. Leaning and relying on drugs to get rid of the pain, and once they get hooked, there is no going back. They are seeking a solution and with the government not aiding and providing them one, they are acting out in the best way they knew how. After this drugs have played a part in their life it may offset new disorders. In the end, it is a lone battle because our government is not pursuing and actions to help these people.
This song was clearly written about someone who was struggling internally against there own mind. This relates to my topic because most mental illnesses are a battle against yourself, the struggle you try to get through your whole life. There are a variety of different types of illnesses but they all have that in common. As that song evolved he got through his fight, he felt alone and our society wasn't helping this battle, they were bringing him down even more. Therefore this song is like a "fight song" for everyone out there who thinks no one sees them, they aren't alone and they can get through it because there is always someone who needs you.
This song is describing the battle he is facing as the government is pressuring him to become a person that is good for their society. He has been punished for all of the things he has tried fighting for and this consequences have led him to believe that no one is on his side, not even god. This relates to my topic because he is explaining how the society has influenced him to become who he is today and the inter-battle against his true self is killing him. So rather than helping our citizens through this, the government is forcing them to change.
