- About how Cardi B and her stylist hid her baby bump until she revealed it on live T.V. - One of vogues articles on celebrities. - Caught my attention because I didn’t think that this would be something written on vogue. - This articles lay out is very simple, much like the rest of vogues website.
I think this article was very well written. I like how it compared her situation to the album. I also liked how they outline how strong she staying how she was throughout this situation. I think that needs to be shown more in cases like these. That was I think about this article.
This is an “Instagram fashion blogger’s” blog. Initially I see the it is extremely aesthetically appealing, all white, simple font, overall very pleasing to the eye. In her blog posts she includes a short description of the topic for the week and a lot of pictures. Compared to the vogue site it is much more personalized and talks about person style opinions rather than celebrities and trends. If I was given the two sites with out names I could definitely pick out which is which.
This isn’t really an article but I wanted to look at a company’s site to see how they lay things out and things they talk about. I want to compare Vogues fashion site to an Instagram fashion bloggers to see the differences and similarities of the 2. Vogues site includes a lot of articles about runway fashion, but does mention stars like Cardi B which would attract a certain crowd. They have a simple, mostly white layout that includes categories like runway, celebrity style, and models. This makes me wonder how a typical Instagram bloggers Instagram compares.
- Says new content marketing strategy is a much have for big fashion brands today. - Author thinks social media is a positive thing for fashion brands. - Article uses statistics to show the benefits. - States building relationships with customers is very important. - Makes me wonder if any brands or people think social media has negative affects.
- Instagram is being taken more seriously by fashion brands as a social strategy instead of being a gimme to create buzz. - I like how the author included how brands are using Instagram in the right ways. - This makes me realize I want to focus my paper on Instagram and not jut social media as a whole. - The author also talked about the future of fashion which is something I might want to include. - I liked how this article displays the information with different sections with titles in bold.
This article looks at the idea of accessible fashion compared to what the fashion industry was in the “traditional fashion era”. The author caught my attention because she made a person connection; she compared how fashion was when she was a little girl to how it is now. The industry gatekeepers (the magazine editors and big time retailers) always tried to keep fashion exclusive. Now we can access all of the lastest trends and even fashion shows with out waiting for the magazine to come out or going to New York fashion week. This article brings up the question of, how long are magazines like vogue and other high fashion magazines going to last?
- This is the Instagram of one of the many big fashion companies who are almost completely social media based when it comes to advertising. - Just by looking at their Instagram page I see that they include many influencers such as Instagram models and you tubers in their pictures. - If you look at the pages of the people in the pictures you can find ads for this clothing store and others. - Revolve has obviously caught on to this easy but effective way of marketing. - This makes me want to find more Instagram pages like this one.
The article evaluates the idea that fashion photographers, stylists, and models are being chosen by companies, not based on their talents, but on their Instagram following. The head of Burberry even suggested that Brooklyn Beckham was chosen to be the photographer for one of their campaigns because of his millions of Instagram followers. This makes me wonder how many companies actually pick employees truly based on talent than on following. Based on this article I might wrote about this change in my paper. Because of this article I would also like to find more information about how this change is effecting the industry.
This article explores the idea that social media, instagram in particular, is changing the fashion industry. I was instantly hooked by this writing because it shows how fashion brand are a being effected by social media, showing that this does have longterm effects. Traditionally the editors for big name company’s were highly experienced designers that knew a lot about the industry. Recently, company’s such as Allure has gotten rid of their long time experienced editor to bring in a younger editor with more experience in media than anything else. This shift is happening because company’s understand the heavy influence social media platforms, like Instagram, have on costumers. There was a report released that says 35% of millennial women chose their clothing based on what they see on social media. It also mentions how brand deals and ads are effecting the industry.
