These two munchkins are my babies. They mean the world to me and I would move Heaven and Earth if they needed me. Ty is 8 and in the 3rd grade, loves soccer and baseball... I'm wearing him down about basketball! Kate is 6 and in 1st grade. She LOVES to sing! She is also really fast, we joke that one day she will either be a famous singer or in the Olympics for track. :) It's fun to imagine and dream about what they will do in their life but ultimately a mothers wish is that her kids are happy, kind and find a partner to build a beautiful life with someday. :)
Well, now you know where my daughter gets it from! I LOVE to sing. We sing all the time at my house and you might see us jamming out to a favorite song while we drive around North Olmsted. I sang in our show choir in high school and as part of the All Ohio Youth Choir. I'm certainly not going to make a living doing it, but I wont hurt your ears either. :) Indigo Girls is one of my favorites, I also like Green Day, Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Rob Base... my tastes run the gamut from rap, to country to classical to some hard rock. I grew up on the Rolling Stones and Disco but Top 40 is my favorite to sing along to. :)
My FAVORITE movie! I love basketball. I love college basketball. In college one of my professors was an alumni of Duke University. During our finals, she left early to go see Duke play in the final four and I swore that I would go someday. So, on my 35th birthday, I bought tickets for the Final Four in Atlanta, Georgia and prayed that one of my teams I liked made it there. Four months later, March Madness is in full swing and Ohio State is looming large... OSU and I will be in Atlanta together! We lost to the University of Florida and I have been a gator-hater ever since.
I am definitely a glass half full kind of person, I have even been accused of living life through rose-colored glasses! This video on MindShift is all about being able to refocus how you look at things, school, obstacles... life. This year will be all about shifting your mind, shifting your focus. :)
Even though I can't get to the gym as often as I used to, staying active is still really important to me. With two small kids, my priority is making sure I'm around for a very long time so that I can see them grow up and hopefully one day, see my grandkids grow up! :)
A good meme can make me laugh... and keep me sane during those rough days at school or home. How about you?
