I am an auditory learner (55%), visual learner (35%), and tactile learner (10%). This means that most often I learn by hearing and listening. Two things I can do to learn better are record myself talking about the topic and sit where I can hear the teacher well.
One of my favorite artists is Amos Lee, a singer/songwriter that is known for his rock/blues/soul/folk style (he is pretty eclectic). But don't box me into this genre... I love to listen to many types of music: Kaleo, Queen, The Beatles, The Zach Brown Band, The Killers, Adele... If it is good music, I will listen.
You should know this coming in: I AM SARCASTIC! Expect it. On the plus side, if you are good at detecting sarcasm, you already have a skill that others will have to learn if they want to understand society, American culture, and me!
I love to work out! It reduces my stress and makes me a happier person to be around (trust me). When I'm not at school, its very likely you will find me lifting weights in a Crossfit box (aka gym) or taking a spin class.
I enjoy hiking and being outdoors in general. The scariest hike I have ever done is Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, Utah. It is a difficult 5 mile hike along the backbone of a ridge. There is no room for mistakes because the drop is about 1500 feet! I still can't believe I was able to get over my fear of heights and do this!
I love traveling! One of my favorite adventures was spending time on Kanawa Island in Komodo National Park, Indonesia.
I am a first generation college graduate! I earned both my B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry and my M.S. in Science Education at CSULB.
One day I would like to volunteer at Shanti Bhavan, a free school in India for kids that come from extreme poverty.
I love animals and try to volunteer or donate when possible. I have even volunteered at this rescue on the island of Koh Lanta in Thailand!
