A. Many African American kids at the time developed hope for becoming professional athletes. He was many people's hero. B. I watch a lot of sports, and it would feel wrong if there was no diversity in sports. C. Jackie Robinson opened the way for baseball and other sports to let non-white athletes.
A. This was the development of Black culture coming full swing into America. It created the part of New York called Harlem. B. I have listened to music and seen art based on this time period. C. African American culture can be rooted from this culturally rich time in history.
A. Jazz influenced many parts of the American culture. It changed fashion and the way people talked the most. B. I enjoy listening to jazz music. C. Jazz is a large part of America's musical identity. There is poetry, art, and many other things based off of jazz.
A. The American public was finally able to select their own food. This helped them know the prices that they were buying. B. I have gone to self service grocery stores my whole life. I have not known anything different. C. Self service grocery stores are mostly where the present American public gets their food today.
A. The nation went crazy after this act was set in place. Many more people were breaking laws just to get alcohol. B. This effects me because it changed the way that people thought about alcohol. I never got to meet some members of my family because they died of alcoholism. C. Many people have drinking problems today because of prohibition.
A. Einstein changed the whole way that people think about how we relate to the rest of the Universe. B. I have been taught this theory throughout my experience in school. C. Scientists use this theory in almost everything they do. He changed modern science.
A. The invention of the assembly line changed the way America manufactured drastically. Things can be produced much cheaper and more efficient. B. I use things everyday that are made through assembly lines. Also, This helped the city of Detroit a lot. C. This connects to present day because factories still use this type of manufacturing.
A. The dust bowl had an impact on many families. These people were already struggling because of the great depression. These families did not have much at all in the world, and this storm tore their homes away from them. It made the great depression even worse and longer for our nation B. This affected me because my grandparents were in the great depression. This caused them not to be able to get food as easily as it should have been. C. These storms caused many people to move out of the dust bowl states. To this day, these states are minimally populated. There have been many folk songs and art displayed based off of the dust bowl.
A. Unemployment was one of the largest factors of the Great Depression. It was a tough time for everybody at the time. B. My grandma's family had a very tough time during the depression. Her parents could not get a job easily. C. The depression has moved us towards trying to be more financially secure and put safe-guards in to prevent such a disaster.
A. This was the first war where there was total war used. Millions of people were killed in this brutal war. B. This war allowed people like me to be afraid of what could happen to civilians. C. This war introduced how we fight wars today. It introduced tanks, mustard gas, and total war.
