Margaret Sanger was an early feminist and women's rights activist who coined the term "birth control" and worked towards its legalization. She helped to change the rights of women by giving them the option to have birth control. This has impacted me as a women because I have the right to use it when necessary. Currently, we are at a period of time where birth control is easy to get because of Margaret's hard work but could sadly be hard to get again.
The Great Depression had a huge impact on the Nation, because the stock market crashed and people lost their jobs. It was a very hard time for all people. This has impacted me because I know how much people rely on the stock market is and how important it is to have a good job and savings. To present day, the government has a greater role in everyday social and economic life of people.
The Holocaust not only had an impact on the US but the whole world because people saw how cruel humans could be to other humans. This impacts me because new generations can learn the mistakes that others made and in present day we can prevent something this huge from happening again.
The creation of the 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. This was a huge step for women in history because it was the start of equality for them and began to put them on a more equal stance with men. This has impacted me because when I turn 18, I will be able to vote. To present day, women have much more equality and now women aren't afraid to fight for what they deserve.
By the atomic bomb being created and destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki it showed our Nation how horrible war is and how much power the US has. This has impacted me because it really shows me how horrible and questionable people can be. To present day, I think this event has made some people care more about bombing and hate.
Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, she changed men's views of what women were capable of and she impacted the advancement of women in aviation. For me, she has changed the way people look at jobs, so now I know I can do any job that I want to do. Today, she has changed aviation for women and her disappearance is still an unsolved mystery.
Women in the "Roaring" '20s started to wear flapper dresses and cut their hair shorter to show that they had the right to wear what they want. Wearing more modern clothes gave women more freedom and men less control. Today, girls in The US, myself included can wear whatever we desire and do our hair however we want.
This impacted the US because African American culture was more widely excepted by white people. This changed American culture and was a big step for equality. Now, I see all different kinds of culture and it is all accepted and people have started respecting it more but sadly, still disrespecting it.
Although Al Capone did many horrible things, his impact on the Nation was huge because of it. By doing these crimes, he actually showed people how to not give up. Al Capone has impacted me by being able to hear an interesting story. Today, Al Capone connects to present day because by him constantly escaping from prison and getting away, things have became more secure.
The dictionary seems as though it would have had a small impact on the world, but really it had a big step in the advancement in technology because a final dictionary came out. This has had an impact on me because dictionaries are used a lot now. Also in present day, they are accessible online as well.
