During the Great Depression FDR gave America hope and helped guide them through World War 2. Today FDR still impacts America because if it wasn't for his guidance and leadership America may have lost World War 2 and wouldn't have gotten through the Great Depression. Lastly it effects me because if FDR didn't lead America out of the Great Depression we may have not recovered economically from World War2. To add on if FDR didn't engage in World War 2, or begin the Manhattan project more US troops would have been killed.

2. Ernest Rutherford

Physicist Ernest Rutherford was the central figure in the study of radioactivity who led the exploration of nuclear physics. Today Rutherford's discoveries are used for nuclear arsenal of the United States. Also his studies of nuclear physics were used to nuke Japan in World War 2 to end the war. Lastly it effects me because radioactivity can be used sterilize medical instruments and food.

Albert Einstein created the theory of relativity. Albert Einstein effected the US because he allowed us to advance in both physics and space travel. Today Albert Einstein's theories are used, for sattelites, space travel, and physics. Albert Einstein's theory effects me because he theory helped allow people to put sattelites in space which we use for our phones and the internet.

On October 24, 1945 the United Nations were formed in San Fransisco, California. The United Nations have effected the US because during wartime the US now has allies to rely on in case their is a threat. Also the United Nations continues to play a role today as they regulate warfare and weapons allowed to be used during wartime. Lastly, the United Nations effect me because my country has allies to rely on and my country has more peace or neutrality with other countries.

Also the Model-T was made for the common people not for the rich and innovated transportation. The Model-T effects people today because it innovated mobile transportation and the car industry. Lastly it effects me because my main source of transportation is my mom's car which is technology that was upgraded from the Model-T.

Today the end of the prohibition of alcohol helped the economy as alcohol is a major contributer for the economy. Lastly the prohibition effects me as a teenager because many teenagers become alcoholics during my age which can kill your brain cells.

On Dec 17, 1903 the first airplane took off into the sky, the airplane was invented by the Wright brothers. The airplane has impacted America during wartimes, for communication, and faster travel. To add on the airplane is still used for these same purpose as they were used then and that invention lead to new types of air crafts. Lastly the airplane has effected me individually because it allows my family to reach other locations around the world to go on vacation.

Television contributed to communication for Americans. Before televisions Americans could only communicate through newspaper and telephone. Madam C.J Walker was both the first self made female millionaire and self made African American millionaire. Walker expanded gender roles of women and changed the standard of African Americans economically. Walker has effected me as an African American she helped break the boundaries set by segregation for African Americans. Lastly she effects African Americans businesses and the rights of African Americans.

The first Mickey Mouse cartoon was made on November 18, 1928. Mickey mouse cartoons started the company we know today called Disney. Disney is now one of the biggest companies in the world. Disney has impacted me personally because it has been part of my childhood watching Mickey Mouse. Also Disney owns Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar are all make movies that I enjoy watching. Disney has so much economic power that it was almost considered a monopoly.
