This post on "Kotaku" is based on artwork n Bioshock: Infinite and its many underlying themes. Bioshock has always had an anti-white theme to them with many times the player having to kill white NPCs. This Artwork clearly shows George Washington holding the Liberty Bell and the Ten Commandments while surrounded by minorities including a Mexican man, a Chinese man and woman, an Irish man, and others groveling at the base of where Washington is standing. This Artwork exemplifies the message that in the world we live in currently there are a lot of White people that believe that they are superior because of their race. While at the same time the artwork sends the message that all other races are lesser and should be treated as such.
This Article really explained how far-spread racism is. I was really surprised to read about the Brookline, Massachusetts cops. Racism has been discussed for many years with the majority(White Adults) not willing to do anything. Reading that the racism started to take a toll on the cops' bodies shocked me about how serious it could become and how it was managed. The main Idea in this article is that the minorities are done with having to put up with racism and bigotry. In this climate, it makes sense that so many people report having personally experienced discrimination. I personally believe that someday the majority has to "wake up" and realize what they are doing is wrong and disgraceful.
Stephon Clark was shot and killed on the evening of March 18, 2018, by two officers of the Sacramento Police Department in Sacramento, California. He was shot in accordance with a call from a man complaining that someone was breaking car windows and had run away. Later that day, In his Grandmother's backyard after being pursued by two cops. After finally tracking him to the backyard, the cops are seen yelling, "Put your hands where we can see them! GUN! GUN! GUN!" and firing 19 rounds at Clark. After examining the body, the cops saw no sign as to where there was a gun only a cellphone. This article shows that even when there are no weapons around, a cop will assume the worst when evaluating the situation when a black man is involved. It really connected with me when I saw that there were 100s of cases that involved the shooting of a black citizen.
