On the outside Gill is a shy, creepy looking fish. When Nemo first meets Gill he is scarred of him. Then as the movie went along Nemo started liking and trusting kill by his personality and not because of how he looked. In the movie, Nemo tried to break the tank by putting a rock in the wheel thing and on his way back the rock moved and it sucked him in and Gill, and the others, saved him. This relates to me cause you have to trust someone with your life just like Nemo did.
In his speech, Letter To Birmingham Jail, he talked about how people are equal. They're equal no matter what they look like or how they act. "all communities and states” are interrelated". What he is stating is that everywhere you go it should he equal. This relates to my theme by showing however a person looks on the outside doesn't change who they are as a person on the inside.
Gene and Finny are very good friends and Finny trusted Gene with everything. Gene looks like a nice and well taught person on the outside, but he also has evil inside of him called his "shadow". Gene pushed Finny from a tree and after that he thought everyone wouldn't like him because of what he had done. But, on the inside he was still the guy that everyone was friends with and that everyone liked. I've once had a friend that was a good person on the inside, but on the outside she wasn't the same. She looked mean and like she hated everyone so I wasn't allowed to talk to her anymore.
Stitch is a monster. But, he doesn't act like one. In the movie, Stitch, he meets Lilo and his personality changes. Of his kind, his normal personality and purpose are explained to be total destruction of anything he touches and is around. But, he actually doesn't destroy anything and he starts caring for Lilo and her older sister. many people are scarred of him because he isn't normal, like a human, hes a alien from space. I relate to this because certain kinds of animals, like some kinds of dogs, are showed as viscous animals that'll kill you. But that is how they are raised. Any animal or person can be raised as good or bad. Most animals that are scary looking, like a tiger or lion, are actually somewhat loving towards people.
In the song, "Beautiful" she talks about how know matter what people say about you, you are still beautiful to yourself. " You are beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring you down....oh no You are beautiful in every single way" Just because someone says something about who they think you are or from your appearance. This relates to me because I've seen people getting picked on their appearance because they look mean but they really aren't.
On the outside, he looks mean and monstrous. He actually is very caring towards his loved one. Everyone is scarred of him at first in the movie, then they learn and start to care about him and not be so scarred. This helps me to think about how just because of how someone looks doesn't effect who they are as a person. You can look one way but your personality can be the total opposite. Or, your lifestyle. That can't reflect on who you are as a person. You reflect on who you are.
In the Hulk, when his anger came out he would turn big and green. Unlike his real self, he is small and somewhat shy. When he is in Hulk form everyone is scarred of him because of his size and how he looks. But, he is still the same person just mad. This represents to me how when people get mad over something they change. Anger changes everyone, sometimes you can't control what you say or do when you're mad about something.
In his song, White or Black, he talks about how he doesn't care if his girl or whoever is thinking about his girl is black or white. Color doesn't define a personality. How you make your own character defines you as a person. My half brother, that is light-skin, dated a black girl and my mom hated it. She would say how he should only date white people. Then as there relationship got deeper my mom learned to not care about how the person looks and should respect them for their personality.
Zero, the smallest kid at Camp Green Lake, is taken as a joke. Nobody thinks he is capable of digging the holes because of his size and because of how quiet he is, but in the outcome he is the best at digging them. This reminds me off my brother because nobody thinks he is capable of doing the stuff he does because of how small he is. Him and Zero are both strong kids on the inside.
The teacher noticed that classroom had very many different groups of people. She stereotyped them at first one her first day. But, then she realized that just because of their color or how they look, doesn't change who they are as a person and how they act. Just other people that look like them doesn't mean they're like that too. Everyone has their own unique identity. In middle school I had a class and there were a lot of diverse groups of different people. Everyone had their own little group and never parted from it because they didn't know how the other groups actually were and acted.
