A young rapper named Gee Money was shot and killed while leaving a recording studio in his hometown of Baton Rouge, LA. The upcoming rapper was put in the limelight for his "beef" with another named Youngboy Never Broke Again (NBA Youngboy). Many suspect that the beef was the reason for Gee Money's death and that Youngboy played a key roll in getting the rapper set up. Alt-Right/ White supremacists rallied in Charlottesville to argue against the removal of Confederate statues. Black Lives Matter members then gathered around a statue honoring Thomas Jefferson and placed a black tarp over the statue. BLM members placed signs around the monument that called Jefferson a "rapist" and a "racist". They did this due to Jefferson's background with slavery. He owned more than hundreds of slaves and went as far as having a forced relationship with his wife's half-sister Sally Hemings, who was one of his slaves. The Black Student Alliance on the campus of the University of Virginia then requested the school to ban white supremacists from campus and also to remove the Confederate plaques that are located on the universities campus.
