This is so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some many people do not realize this cause they do it to be noticed and they dont think about what they are saying. Saying yes to everything. Going from middle school to high school is a bug difference so many things happen. In middle school they are teaching you how to be successful but in high school they teach you expecting you to be able to make decisions for yourself.
Every teen wants to fit in. They make up things about them so they can be liked. But why do you want to fit in with others, when the true friends are those who like you for being yourself?
This poem is great way to explain that there's nothing wrong with being yourself. Later on in the poem it says; I am me What's wrong with it I'm weird Calm and strange in a good way What's wrong with being myself Everyone one has there own personality that gets expressed in different ways. No one is the same so what makes them different than your friends?
We need to stand up for ourselves and not let others choose our direction in life. In The Ravine the guys go to the 50 foot high platform that a boy around the same age jumped off and was never found. One of the guys in the group didn't want to do it but sense his friends pressured him into doing he went for it. We don't know if he jumped or not but just getting onto the platform was a form of peer pressure.
Finding Nemo was pressured into touching the boat. He did it and was token away to Sydney, Australia to a dentist there, The rest of the movie was his dad trying to find him to get him back. Peer pressure can happen for the good or bad. You need to decide that.
In the story "The Ravine, one of the major themes is don't fall into peer pressure or things can happen that you did not expect. So many people do things that others want them to do so they fit in. But our story has not be written, just like thing quote says, so we need to live it how we want to not how others want us too.
