Regarding to the theme of acquiring more knowledge and understanding to the book "The Godfather" by Mario Puzo, I think it's essential to learn deeply about the context of the author. In this specific case, taking into account that Puzo was born in New York City as cause of the Italian immigration wave to the United States, the reading of this document can give answers to the possible motifs or intentions for which the author develops some parts of the book. Also, it can be interesting to analyse how his background of an unpleasant immigration is reflected in this extremely well-recognized piece.
There are no words to describe how I feel proud to be Portuguese, to be native of an extraordinary country and to deserve to be called "Tuga". I was born in the capital Lisbon, in 20th April 2000 (in the Hospital Cruz Vermelha), where I lived my whole life until my 12 years old. Likewise, I have all my family and portuguese friends living there, and although I visit them only twice a year, the anxious wait makes the moments of leisure in my country to be exploit in the best possible way. On the other hand, the many beautiful touristic landscapes, daily quotidian aspects that are remarkable and extremely benefic impacting either in a foreigner as in a national citizen, from the wonderful landscapes Cristo Rei, Torre de Belém, Terreiro do Paço, exotic beaches to the most delicious cooking and deserts, Pastéis de Belém, Arroz de Pato, Bacalhau à brás, are what characterizes this country's uniqueness.
Since I was born, my father always had the desire to get my brother and me to rugby, as my three older brothers did. So, when I turned 7, I entered in the famous national club Grupo Desportivo Direito (GDD), where I played for five straight years until I was 12, the age when I came to Colombia. However, this sport had a huge impact in me and in my personality as cause of the strengthening of my values and personal aptitudes, among them respect, solidarity, sportsmanship, teamwork, humility and more important, made me understand that however much you want to work alone, you will never get as far as you would in a team, as a family. For example, in the last year of my "career", after being called to play one of the most important tournaments in Europe, the Youth Festival, constating of 20 teams, against all probability we managed to be third in the competition. However, even today I still think when I'm going to play this unmatched sport again.
Since little, I've been an enthusiastic fan of Sporting Clube de Portugal, as an heritage of my father's awesome likes. However, even though the fans of sporting in my family and group of friends is disproportionate toward the SL Benfica fans (rival), my father, my brother and keep the tradition of going to the stadium in an average of three times per year, sometimes accompanied by my nephew.
