With 1984's difference from prole to the upper class is very large and also very permanent for you and your children where as in the real world it is still a large difference but not as permanent. Winston faces everyday challenges for party members like complying to the parties ideals and hopefully preventing thought-crime or even the small things like struggling just to find " various things, such as shoelaces and razor blades"(9) which can get difficult when under constant supervision by the party. where as the proles are just struggling to survive the normal bombings of the city, live off the little income they make off of labor jobs and little to no attention was payed to them. while in the real world according to the article, we also face difficulties similar to this but in a more concealed way. in the real world "Class affects whether someone is going to be accepted...their likelihood of succeeding...[and] the kinds of jobs they have access to". seeing as there are these major advantages and disadvantages to what class you fall in there is a lot of unfair and dystopian elements flying around.
