This article is about the caste system of Hinduism, its definition, history, advantages, disadvantages and critical analysis As I compare “The Brave New World” to real life situation I think about how the people in future London are classified into certain categories. In the book it states “Alpha Children wear gray. They work much harder than we do, because they’re frightfully cleaver.” Pg 27 This is much like the Hindu Caste were they believe in ranking people. In the caste system it works well for the government because everyone has to work super hard for what they want in life and the hope of achieving heaven on earth. In The Brave New World everyone is satisfied with their ranking and believe that they need to keep up good work in whatever they have been placed in. “I’m really glad I’m a Beta, because I don’t work so hard.” People in The Brave New World don’t really over think their caste. But how does being born into a certain ranking and not being able to do much more feel? What if the people of India want to achieve more, and not have the government take advantage of their hard work. The future of London has been set on the hope of having everyone happy in what they are doing and making everyone feel the need to keep working hard to have their world perform well.
