The primary reason I selected this article was that Roman glassware includes some of the finest pieces of art ever produced in antiquity and the very best were valued higher than wares made with precious metals. However, plain glass vessels such as cup, bowls, plates, and bottles were also used as everyday containers, in particular, for storing and serving food and drinks.
I selected this article because Roman mosaics were a common feature of private homes and public buildings across the empire from Africa to Antioch. Not only are mosaics beautiful works of art in themselves but they are also an invaluable record of such everyday items as clothes, food, tools, weapons, flora and fauna.
The primary reason I selected this article was that the Romans controlled such a vast empire for so long a period that a summary of the art produced in that time can only be a brief and selective one.
I selected this article because this was made out of bronze and it was bigger then a life size and most probably erected in 176 CE and placed in Rome.
