The general rule of thumb for using music for projects in the classroom is if you are sharing your work outside of the classroom, such as on YouTube, and are claiming a project as your own original work, you need to use royalty-free music. If you project is only going to be shown to students within your classroom and students have legally purchased the music files, they can use it with their projects.
Whenever possible, have students cite their sources and model proper digital citizenship! We want students to be creators of original works that can be used in a professional setting.
