Researchers have came to the conclusion that people who are unable to move during the incident are most likely going to develop PTSD and depression.They also found that women who have been in these situations before, were twice as likely to have experienced tonic immobility during the recent rape. Women whose rape was more severe involving physical violence were also twice as likely to have experienced tonic immobility during the attack.
