There is also information on why NASA studies and observes solar eclipses. I like this site because it gives you all the basics you will need to learn about a solar eclipse.
This video is very informative from the different types of solar eclipse to the fact that solar eclipses affect nature. This video explain how it is very rare that we are able to see a total eclipse. Also explains why we don't have a eclipse every month. There are 4 different types of solar eclipses: total, partial, annular, and hybrid. Total eclipse happen every few year but only about 400 year does it occur in the same spot. This video also explains why not to look directly at the eclipse, the different ways to view eclipse, and when you can look at the eclipse without glasses. This video is by far my favorite solar eclipse video because it gives so much information.
This picture shows where you will see the eclipse. It also shows how much of the eclipse you will see. The diagonal line in the middle is where people will see a total solar eclipse. Indiana will almost be able to see a total eclipse. I like this picture because most maps don't show where there will be a partial eclipse.
This site gives some pretty weird information on things that can happen during a total solar eclipse. Animals feel the temperature drop as the light fades and think it's time for bed. When the sun comes back out animals think it's morning. Something you'll be able to see is the stars, maybe even some planets. You may also see Bailey's Beads which is the sunlight shining through the craters and valley's of the moon. You may also see corona rainbows. If there is enough water molecules the light from the corona will make a small rainbow around the moon. I really liked this site because they are really weird facts.
This site shows you an amazing 360 view during a lunar eclipse. On earth it's just a normal lunar eclipse but not on the moon. On the moon it's a solar eclipse just with the earth passing in front of the sun. For me this picture makes me feel like lunar eclipses are now more interesting.
