There are four different types of solar eclipse, Partial eclipse, Annular eclipse, Total Eclipse and Hybrid Eclipse.A partial solar eclipse occurs when only part of the Sun is covered by the Moon. An annular eclipse occurs when the Sun’s center is covered by the moon. A total solar eclipse takes place when the Sun becomes completely covered by the moon.
Arthur Eddington used the total solar eclipse of May 29, 1919 to test Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. From the picture i learned that Arthur Eddington used the solar eclipse to learn Albert Einsteins theory of general relavity. The first solar eclipse was on May 3, 1375.
The solar eclipses occur because of a remarkable cosmic coincidence. It also happens when the moon covers the sun. The umbra is the inner shadow. If you stand inside the umbra, the Sun will be completely blocked in eclipse.
