What is the difference between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse? The lunar eclipse occurs at night and solar eclipses happen during the day. Lunar eclipse is when the earth is in the middle of the sun and the moon and the solar eclipse is when the moon is in the middle of the moon and sun.
In the United States, the next total solar eclipse will happen on August 21, 2017 - the first time since 1979. This is one of the best sites to go on because it gives you a lot of great information. This eclipse is the first cross the entire united states coast to coast since 1918!
In order to watch the solar eclipse without getting eye damage or becoming blind you must wear special glasses tat protect your eyes.
I chose this picture because i have never see a solar eclipse and wanted to get an idea of what it looks like.
I chose this site because I didn't know how often they were. I thought that its interesting. Solar eclipses happen about two times year. It can go up to five times a year but that is extremely rare last time it happened was 1935. The next time it will happen is about 2206!
