Stalin was portrayed as a very paranoid person. He was always afraid that the people around him will do harm to him. Thus coming up with all the ideas on how to prevent it - terror and show trials. However this cause the people to be very afraid. He killed all the people that was actually very loyal to him, what he had done was very cruel and relentless. He did not take the welfare of the people into consideration thus he is not a saviour of USSR.
