War has forced millions of families to flee their homes. This cite has personal stories from Syrian refugees who were forced to flee from their homes.
Migrants are people who move from one place to another in order to live in another place for more than a year. A refugee is a person who has fled armed conflict or persecution and who is recognised as needing of international protection because it is too dangerous for them to return home. An asylum seeker is someone who left their country and applied for asylum in another country. Sade and Femi are more like refugees then migrants and asylum seekers.
A person who has left their country of origin and formally applied for asylum in another country but whose application has not yet been concluded. a refused asylum seeker is a person whose asylum application has been unsuccessful and who has no other claim for protection awaiting a decision. Some people whose asylum application have been refused voluntarily return to their home and others are forced to return. An economic migrant is a person who has moved to another country for the purpose of work. Sade and Femi are not asylum seekers, they have not applied for asylum and also they are being smuggled illegally into the country. Also they are not economic migrants because they are not going to another country to work, furthermore refugees cannot be economic migrants.
A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war or violence. A refugee has to flee from his/her country because of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality or political opinion. In most cases refugees can't return to their point of origin or they are afraid to do so. In the novel, Sade and Femi are forced to live Nigeria to avoid being killed. I think that Sade and Femi are refugees because their lives are in danger and they have to flee from Nigeria to avoid death.
