Teacher nerds, unite. This is a wonderful website with a blog, podcast, and courses for teachers. Although some of the information is more applicable to middle and high school teachers, the pedagogy and philosophy behind the website is applicable to any grade level.
Responsive Classroom is an evidence-based approach to teaching that focuses on the strong link between academic success and social-emotional learning (SEL). This site has a monthly newsletter about teaching practices and emphasizes the importance of social-emotional learning. It's where I learned about Morning Meeting. Many, many valuable resources on this site.
Back to School Dodecahedron Project - Collaborative Learning Because the first days of school are crucial to a successful year, it is important that students start off the year getting to know each other. This is a very successful project that I have used for the last several years. It costs $3.99, and is worth it!
Truth for Teachers is consistently ranked in the top ten K-12 podcasts on iTunes. Each Sunday, a new 15-20 minute episode is released to speak life, encouragement, and truth into the minds and hearts of teachers. I love this podcast. Perfect to listen to on the way to work. Angela Watson also has very high quality instructional materials on TPT.
TeamTools takes your class info and recommends teams for you. This is great for forming groups, making teams for P.E., etc.
Artsonia is a kids art museum where young artists and students display their art for other kids worldwide to view. This gallery displays schools (K-12) and student art projects in our museum. I upload student artwork on the site and get ideas for lesson plans.
Bloomz makes it easy for Teachers and Schools to safely communicate and coordinate with parents, share media, school events, instantly message parents and more. Parents love it too!
You can use this site to create your own cursive/handwriting practice sheets. Great for homework.
I love this site! It has inquiry-based science lessons that get kids energized and excited about science. It has a membership fee...see if you can get your principal (or a rich relative) to buy the membership for one year. It's worth it!
