A. When Jeannette Rankin was elected for the U.S. HoR it opened up the path for many other women to go into it. she was the First woman to ever be here. B. This impacts me as she was able to put in the work and show she could make it into the house of representatives. C. This connects to present day as she showed the US that she, and other woman, can and will be able to work in political and other jobs.

This connects to present day as we can now learn from our mistakes during the stock market crash.
A. Amelia Earhart Embarked on Solo Trans-Atlantic Flight on May 20, 1932. Amelia Earhart took off from Newfoundland; she landed in Ireland nearly 15 hours later, becoming the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. B. This impacts me because like Jeannette Rankin, Amelia Earhart showed that she could do what Charles Lindbergh did before her. C. This connects to present day as the legendary Amelia Earhart two years later, she attempted, along with copilot Frederick J. Noonan, to fly around the world, but her plane disappeared near Howland Island in the South Pacific on July 2, 1937. never to be found.

Roosevelt (FDR), a Democrat, broke with tradition and ran for a third term, which became a major issue. The surprise Republican candidate was maverick businessman Wendell Willkie, a dark horse who crusaded against Roosevelt's failure to end the Depression and eagerness for war. B. This impacts me as it is interesting how FDR was able to run for a third (and even fourth, though he died a few months into it) term. C. This connects back to today as this election lead to the 22nd amendment allowing a president only 2 terms.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory, on the morning of December 7 B. This impacts me because even after we were attacked, we came into the war and fought back. C. this connects to today because without pearl harbor, we might've stayed out of the war. It is a day that will live in infamy.
