This cartoon clearly illustrated German people trying to eat machinery and weapons. This is a clear indication of the Nazi Germany economic policies where Hitler succeeded in putting most of his effort into the rearmament of Germany however the well known debate over guns or butter still rages. I choose this source as it clearly illustrated the problem that Germany was facing during Nazi Germany time. His lack of concerns over the people do show that Nazi rule is not beneficial to the Germans
This article shows how the Nazis brought about the demise of hundreds of newspapers produced by outlawed political parties and the various ways they controlled the content in the newspapers. I have chosen this source as it has very clearly show how Hitler established control over the press by restricting their freedom to access to information. This reminded me of what happen in North Korea. This clear infringement of personal rights is definitely not beneficial for Germany.
This 10 min video provides an overview of how life was under Hitler. Using the viewpoint of a fictious traveller from USA to germany, it used video evidence that were mainly propaganda materials which show the various aspect of Germany rule. I chose this source as it showed how the Germans perceived Hitler and Germany rule. Through all the positive vibes i seen in the video, and the scenes of development and happiness from the people, lives of the Germans have been good thus Nazi rule benefitted Germany.
This photo showed a woman who was sitting on a bench in Germany during Nazi Germany. She was however very ashamed to be captured on film because this bench was only reserved for undesirable people such as a jew. I choose this picture as it clearly depicted that certain faction of the population were ill treated by the Nazi government. The loss of basic freedom to even sit in a bench is a clear illustration that life was not beneficial under the Germans.
This source highlight Hitler attitudes towards the Church and how he tried to create a Nazi church by getting rid of the orthodoxy christians. He also eliminated those who refused to comply to his beliefs. I chose this source as it provide me with a good overview of Nazi policies on religion and how it tried to control religion. This showed me that Nazi rule had removed the freedom of the people and they were given no choice. This restriction showed that Nazi rule is not beneficial to Germany
