One thing we could've done as human beings is watch how we dispose of our belongings. Littering isn't just bad for the land on Earth, it is most dangerous to the water. Since there was so much bacteria and waste in the rivers, this caused the crisis to be worst than it had to be. Secondly the government should've listened to the civilians of Flint Michigan. Like I said, the government has ignored the people living in Flint Michigan for months and if they had listened to them the first time then maybe this disaster would've happened in the first place. Lastly, we could've picked a safer water source to drink water from. If they knew that the Flint river had a lot of bacteria in it and if it wasn't safe, then they should've picked a better and safer water source.
We know that the Hydrology cycle was dangerous in this area. One of the reasons why is because the first step into making water safe to clean is bacteria. Since their were high levels of bacteria in Flint Michigan they had to work even more to make sure the water was safe for drinking. But they were never really able to make the water safe for drinking because there was a lot of waste in the water. Human activity is one of the reasons why the hydrology cycle in Flint Michigan is so messed up. Also like I said the pipes were being corroded and there was a lot of lead in them. So besides that there was the bacteria, human waste, and other materials that polluted the water. Lead must of been picked up in the runoff or in the ground water because this is the last step in the hydrology cycle.
The hydrology cycle is the movement between layers of the atmosphere. The first stage in the hydrology cycle is the evaporation of water. The second step in the hydrology cycle is that water vapor condenses to form clouds. The third step in the hydrology cycle is precipitation forms into rain or snow and hits the ground and it turns into ground water or runoff. The final steps is that the ground water and the runoff goes into a larger body of water then it evaporates back into the atmosphere, then this cycle repeats over and over again.
What effect did the water in Flint Michigan cause to the people living there? First of all the first thing that happened was that Flint Michigan changed its water supply in 2014. This led to 40% of Flint Michigan to complain about the water quality. The reason why this problem got bad so fast was that the state was denying that there was a serious water problem. By now it was too late to switch back to the original water supply without pipe issues. The pipes has sustained major corrosion and lead. Now your wondering why is corrosion and lead so bad for us? The reason why these two dangerous things are bad for humans is because it causes high blood lead levels. This is very bad for pregnant women and children. The reason why its bad is because it can cause lead poisoning, and mental retardation.
