The Great Depression started somewhere around October in the year of 1929. It started because the U.S. Stock Market began to crash and lots of people were losing their jobs fast, and no jobs equals no money, which leads to being homeless. This time period is also known as the Economic Crisis. Each day that passed by during the Great Depression, things got worse by the day. Mostly because people claimed that there wasn’t enough money being printed out, and to make matters worse, the taxes were increasing. People thought that they main reason why the Great Depression started in the first place was because of the current president, Herbert Hoover, he was the one who was blamed the most, so they voted for Franklin D. Roosevelt to be the next president.
Right when the Stock Market crashed, profits were beginning to go down and with no profits, there are no stores, and with no stores, there are no jobs. Even though some people thought that the Stock Market crash was just a cause in addition to the Great Depression rather than the cause of the Great Depression, there was still no employment for the people over in America. This wasn’t even a problem for America, it was a problem for the almost every country. Since there was no profits going through the roof, there were no deals on automobiles which means no transportation. Even before the Great Depression even started, profits were still going down. This wasn’t only problem for the people with no jobs, but this was a problem for everyone who works in the industry, they were not getting any money just like the people who don’t have any jobs.
