Rape is something that has many effects on the victim. Victims no matter what in one way or another will experience one or many. Ranging from guilt/shame, MDD , PTSD, etc."Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) involves a pattern of symptoms that some individuals develop after experiencing a traumatic event such as sexual assault. Symptoms of PTSD include repeated thoughts of the assault; memories and nightmares; avoidance of thoughts, feelings, and situations related to the assault. Victims of sexual assault will live with what happened to them and never forget. It's important to help these individuals and fight to stop not only sexual assualt but any form of malacious intents.
Anyone can be the target of sexual assault, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sexual history, or social class. There is no stereotypical victim or rapist. Although rape is unexpected in most cases it's important not to fall victim. As the prey one must fend off the predator. Although difficult there are ways to fight and prevent yourself from becoming a victim. It's important to know tips and trust your instincts. Avoid shady places like doors or allyways. Be assertive in how you walk. At home make sure that everything is as it should and lock doors and windows. Always be alert about your surroundings and the people around you. If you know the person communicate your limits "Even clear communication is not always effective. Some people simply don't listen or don't care. If either person is intoxicated of high, it may also complicate the situation. " but it doesn't excuse for someone to commit sexual assault.

Some ways to fight it are; Avoid using language that objectifies or degrades women , Let survivors know that it is not their fault , Hold abusers accountable for their actions: do not let them make excuses like blaming the victim, alcohol, or drugs for their behavior , etc.

In order to help educate people when need to start with the "Age of consent". The ‘Age of consent’ is another way of saying the legal age to have sex. "Essentially it means that if you have sex with someone when you or they are under the age of consent, then you are breaking the law – even if you both have sex willingly. Around the world on an international level the age of consent is 18 in a universal way. Each country has their own set on what the age for a person to legally consent to sexual activities of any nature. The way it's set in the U.S.A varies by state and a age gap between two individuals. However if proven that the person who consented is under the age of 18 and who they consented with is older than the age gap. It falls under statutory rape which is punishable by law.
