Rosalind Franklin was a scientist whose contributions to the discovery of the shape of the DNA molecule went uncredited for many years. In my sophomore year, I found what DNA and the double helix was. It just stood out to me because a woman figured it out, which was rare for women to be in the science field in the 1950's. So two guys, Francis Crick and James Watson got the credit instead because a couple years before that, Rosalind died of ovarian cancer, in which Nobel prizes aren't awarded posthumously.
This also connects to me because one of my all time favorite bands Metallica, they created a fundraiser called All Within My Hands. What they do is that they help fight against hunger, help firefighters and policemen, and help communities. It connects with me because I like helping people, too.
This is one of my favorite things, ever. Dave Grohl, basically my role model and inspiration, he interviewed his mom, Virginia Grohl, of how he was raised. Why it's one of my favorites is because he loves his mom and has a strong connection with her. And I connect it by having a caring and strong relationship with my mom.
