The Outer Planets are the gas planets. Every outer planet has their own rings. All of the gas giants have a rocky core. The atmosphere is made out of thick layers of methane and ammonia.
The next four planets out from the sun are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They are collectively referred to as the Jovian planets (means Jupiter like). They are significantly different from the terrestrial planets. The four outer planets. Jupiter is the largest planet. Saturn is the second largest planet. Uranus is 4x bigger than earth. Neptune is the farthest away from the star or sun.
