Parents are dying, and their children are being forced to raise families. Parents that aren’t dead have to worry about their kids being taken. Kids that are taken by the LRA are forced to kill, and if they do not, they are seen as a weakness and are killed themselves. Since they take children at night, the kids in some areas hide in night commuter buildings, while elders sleep nearby in verandas. No one feels safe in their own home anymore. Children that do survive these horrible experiences and escape, are rejected by their own families because people know what they have done. Kids have to live on their own after that, because their parents do not want to admit that their child killed someone. Child soldiers have evolved through a political lense, Kony wants power so much that he wants to use the kids to try and gain control of the government. He tries to use the kids to get what he wants. knowing that the parents of the kids will do almost anything to get their babies back. Kony wants to have power over everybody, and that's why I chose a political lense. He thinks that if he has power over Uganda, then he will be able to get whatever he wants. It's all about power, and the Ugandan president knows that. He doesn't want to surrender his power, because Kony isn't good for the government. He also knows that in doing this he puts his whole country in danger. He is putting his power over the protection of his people, but power is more important to him. Kony cannot get away with this forever. People are trying to find ways to stop this monster, but he keeps slowly maneuvering around them. He is a criminal mastermind, and the Ugandan government is trying their best to rid their country of this terror. They have warrants for his arrest, and sooner or later he will give up, or be caught. He tries to say he is a freedom fighter, but everyone in that country knows what he does. He kidnaps children, puts them through hell, and raises them against their own government.
Over 30,000 children are fighting in the LRA. Some of these victims are only as young as 7. They are being taken against their will, and live in a state of constant war. Constantly being in fear, not knowing what could happen to them next. They are ripped away from their families. The Lord’s Resistance Army abducts children every year and puts them in rebel camps. They take from everywhere all over Uganda. The children’s human rights are violated every day there. They are forced to be a part of an association, they have very bad standards of living, they aren’t allowed to learn, and they have no privacy. Kony violates many articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This just shows how far he will go to get power of Uganda. He has such a strong thirst for power that he doesn’t realize how much harm he is doing to other people. Kony has been allowed to do this for too long, and he needs to be stopped. Political power of Uganda is what he wants, and he hasn’t received it. Kony believes that many things qualify him for power, and he wants to be able to control everyone. Joseph Kony is a mad man. The Ugandan government has to find new ways to refrain Kony from taking over as leader. He thinks that the children are the ways to get the power, but all he is doing is harming innocent people. Kony only thinks for himself, and also only thinks about the political power he could have in time. Kony wants to try and turn people against their own government, but all he is doing is making himself a bigger threat. By taking away the children’s human rights, he is showing people how relentless he is to get power. The horrible rebel camps are places that make these innocent children into monstrous people. They, in turn, get rejected by their own families if they get out. He is turning people on their own people, and will never be able to get power if he keeps doing so. The state of constant war and fear is causing these children to never be able to live a normal life again, and Kony doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is getting control of the government.
Kony believes that he should be the leader of Uganda. He believes that the only way for him to gain power is to fight the government. He has a resistance army, but it isn’t people who have their own opinions. He uses children. He abducts people’s children in the middle of the night from rural areas in Uganda. Northern Uganda is in a civil war, all because of Kony. Government efforts to find Kony struggle to protect the people of the country from abduction. To try and fix that problem, people are put into internal displacement camps. The only requirement for the children being abducted was that they had to be strong enough to carry an AK-47. That doesn’t mean that these kids aren’t scared out of their minds. Some people are forced to kill their own relatives, and all the LRA wants is energetic people. When they tell you to rest, it usually means they are going to kill you. The LRA will kill you if you cry, according to a young victim. Some kids had to set fire to huts that had their own families in it. The violence has subsided, and the possibility of peace is shining through. Kony puts these children into rebel camps and all he cares about is the power. Kony has tried to say that he doesn’t abduct the children, and that all he has is an adult resistance army. Everyone involved knows what actually goes on. The LRA abducts children, and they use them to try and gain power. Political power is being tossed around in this country, and Kony thinks that it will be thrown his way next. He just wants to gain power, and then he will have what he wants. The Ugandan president knows that if Kony gets power, the whole country will be in big trouble. He has tried his best to stop Kony, and it seems as if there is no hope for these poor children.
